31 Days

Over the next month, do these things to make your church better…

Read a book on leadership. Fulfill an overdue promise. Pay someone an unexpected visit. Write a thank you note.

Take a colleague out to lunch. Do the thing that you’ve been putting off. Ask for feedback. Focus on yourself.

Write a personal credo. Do one thing until it is finished. Do the most basic job in your church.

Spend extra time in prayer today. Involve someone else in your work. Write your elevator speech.

Pay someone a compliment. Ask a church member to pray for you. Plan a year’s worth of sermons.

Get mad at the right thing. Go all day long without a single directive. Clarify your motives for leadership.

Share your testimony with someone. Do something you enjoy. Learn the name of someone new today.

Ask someone to mentor you. Contribute to someone’s spiritual growth. Surprise your wife and kids with a gift.

Study (or review) the demographics of your ministry area. Bring in a consultant, even if you can’t pay them. Pull an old exegesis textbook off the shelf and read it.

Throw a party, even if it’s a mini one.

And then…

Start over and do them all again.
